Regulation

Respiratory Therapy is a regulated practice in most jurisdictions in Canada.  It is important to note that the Canadian Board for Respiratory Care has no role in regulating professional practice in any jurisdiction in Canada.

All candidates who wish to work in Canada following the successful completion of the national exam should review the requirement of the regulatory authority in the province in which they wish to work.

Information on regulations in Canada can be found by visiting the National Alliance of Respiratory Therapy Regulatory Bodies (NARTRB)

For provinces that have not established a regulatory authority, candidates are strongly encouraged to contact the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists.
